WILLIAM BOURNE - FOUNDER OF LINCHPIN

For over 37 years, William has worked in institutional asset management, founding Linchpin in 2010 following an earlier venture in fund placement. He is considered a thought-leader within the financial industry, and has various governance and investment advisory roles within the UK public pensions industry. He divides his time between this aspect of the business and Linchpin’s original fund placement arm. He has a Masters in Finance attained from the London Business School.

SOPHIE GIOANNI - MANAGING DIRECTOR; ASSET RAISING AND LEGAL

Sophie has worked at various hedge funds, serving as general counsel and head of business development. She has experience with a broad range of institutional investors including wealth managers, insurance companies, pension funds, endowments, and family offices in Europe, the United States and Asia. Prior to that, Sophie worked in various positions in investment banking and in law in the UK, Spain and the United States. She graduated with a Masters in Law from Duke University and also holds two post-graduate degrees in law from the University Pantheon Sorbonne and in business from the University Paris Dauphine. She was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1995 and the New York Bar in 1996.

MUKESH MALHOTRA - LINCHPIN ASSOCIATE; ADVISORY

For over 30 years, Mukesh has played a major role in the international corporate world in areas such as Risk, Audit, Compliance and Business Management with British Airways. In more recent years, he has undertaken several, largely non-executive roles for pension funds, and within charities and other third sector organisations.

 

He acted as Chair of Hounslow Pension Fund from 2014 to 2018 and has been actively involved in running or assisting a number of other charities and 3rd Sector organisations. Mukesh gained a Masters Degree in Management & IT, and also holds a specialist qualification of CISM – Certified Information Security Manager – issued by ISACA.

GILL GIBB - LINCHPIN ASSOCIATE; ADVISORY

Gill, an experienced CEO and Executive Director, is currently CEO of Tree of Hope, a charity which supports families to raise funds for operations and therapies not ordinarily available from the UK health sector.

Gill was a Director at both Futurebuilders (now the Social Investment Business) and the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), winning the Queen's Award for Enterprise at CAF for innovative financial services products. Gill has managed significant investment portfolios and is highly experienced as a practitioner and consultant in charity governance and finance. Prior to this, Gill was a senior executive in Retail Banking for 18 years, working nationally across the retail branch network and the call centre network whilst running the estate agency and agency divisions. Gill was also Treasurer for Centrepoint, the youth homeless charity, for over 9 years, and Deputy Chair of the Charity Finance Group for 6 years. She was also a NED for a Hospital Trust and is currently a Trustee at Avante Care, and Chair of the Care & Quality Committee.

STEPHANIE WINDSOR - LINCHPIN ADMINISTRATOR

Stephanie has worked with institutional investment firms for over 25 years and currently provides executive support to a number of organisations in this space.

She was previously a founder member and Business Manager at SVG Investment Managers, and an Executive Assistant and Team Leader at UBS Global Asset Management.

She has also worked as an Office and Events Manager, and journalist.

Stephanie has an MSc in occupational psychology.
